Artist: Brad Holt grew up on a farm in rural Alberta, east of Calgary near Stathmore and now resides in Airdrie AB. Through farming, 4H club and working in the community he has a grown a love for Albertan landscapes which shows through in his art. Brad's work is mixed media combining his talent for painting and his love for photography . He loves photo-realism and utilizes a image transfer in the background of each piece to help highlight important aspects of his painting and to create depth and substance. Brad paints with acrylics and hand paints each work of art creating rich and colourful textured sunsets and landscapes. Combining these different mediums creates a striking 3-dimensional look in his work. All of Brads creations are handmade, original and truly one of a kind. Brad Also believes that the frame is a important extension of his Art and hand makes each of his unique frames. Each frame is made from reclaimed wood and metal found from barnyards, antique stores, old homes etc. He loves using his experience in different media and bringing it together to create innovative and original pieces, reflecting the beautiful place we live in.
